Aspects of customs modernization in Turkmenistan

Within the framework of the signed project agreement on technical cooperation on the implementation of the ASYCUDA World integrated customs information system between the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), an active phased implementation of the electronic goods declaration system is being implemented in all customs authorities.

As already known, the customs transit subsystems have been successfully introduced, and a pilot project of customs declaration during export has already been launched. After successful testing of this module, on December 1, a pilot project of all modes in an integrated system was launched.

In this regard, a seminar for customs inspectors was organized in the customs authorities of Ashgabat, in which representatives of UNCTAD took part. This seminar was aimed at training on the process of working with customs declarations in the ASYCUDA World information system, taking into account the features of the new procedure for filing, registering and issuing a customs declaration.

It should be noted that from January 1, 2020, the customs authorities of Turkmenistan will completely switch to full-scale electronic customs declaration at ASYCUDA World.
