Briefing held at the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan

On January 16, 2020, the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan held a briefing on the announcement of the 2020 motto “Turkmenistan is the homeland of Neutrality,” as well as the international conference “Turkmenistan and International Organizations: Cooperation for Peace and Development” held in Ashgabat with the participation of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov 14 January.

The briefing was attended by customs officers, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Adalat of Turkmenistan.

Speakers stated that the motto of 2020 is inextricably linked with the humanistic principles that underlie the domestic and foreign policies of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. Turkmenistan’s foreign policy is aimed at maintaining international peace and security. The principle of neutrality and broad international cooperation form the basis of this policy. Currently, international cooperation has reached a new level.

The activities of the State Customs Service related to international cooperation were also noted. The State Customs Service, implementing the customs policy, which is an integral part of both the domestic and foreign policies of the country, contributes to the development of foreign relations of the state. Particularly recently, the SCST has intensified its cooperation with UN structural units. A memorandum of understanding between the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and the United Nations Development Program on joint cooperation to stimulate innovation and modernize customs procedures to achieve sustainable development, signed at the end of November 2019, is an example of this.

We wish further success to the distinguished President in strengthening peace and security in the world.
