Amendments to the Customs Code of Turkmenistan

The Mejlis of Turkmenistan adopted the Law “On Amendments and Additions to the Customs Code of Turkmenistan”. The amendments are related to the provisions of the new version of the Law of Turkmenistan “On licensing of certain types of activities”.

Under the new changes, activities licensed by the customs authorities, such as those of a duty-free shop, a customs warehouse, a temporary storage warehouse and a customs broker, are exempt from licensing.

And also according to the addition, the concept “vehicle” is included in the clause 27 of part 1 of article 5 of the Customs Code and “container”. Previously, the container was used in the meaning of "multi-turn packaging."

The law comes into force on April 1, 2020.
