On 12 June, 2020, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers through a video communication system, at which topical issues of state policy were discussed, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.

The first Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers G. Mushshikov reported on the status of the reporting structures, the fulfillment of the instructions for the privatization of state-owned enterprises and transformation into joint-stock companies, as well as the creation of private enterprises on their basis.

Summarizing the report, the President emphasized that the economic effect of the privatization of state property is intended to further promote the progressive reforms being carried out in the country. Noting the importance of clearly fulfilling the priority tasks in this direction, the head of state instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to continue the planned work.

The Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers M. Meredov reported on the state of affairs in the structural divisions of the fuel and energy complex and the promotion of a number of investment projects implemented in accordance with the "Program for the Development of the Oil and Gas Industry of Turkmenistan for the Period until 2030" and aimed at increasing oil production by increasing well productivity.

The Deputy Prime Minister was instructed to attract foreign investment in the oil and gas sector, to study the experience of leading energy companies in improving the industry management system.

The Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Sh. Durdylyev reported to the President on measures taken by the Ministry of Industry and Construction to establish production of metallurgical silicon based on local raw materials.

Having listened to the report, the President emphasized the crucial importance of measures taken to develop the domestic heavy industry and focused the attention of the relevant leaders on the need to further study and develop in detail the possibilities of producing demanded construction products based on local raw materials.

Further, the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers E. Orazgeldiev reported on seasonal field work being carried out in the regions of the country.

Noting the importance of increasing volumes and expanding the range of agricultural products, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov addressed specific instructions to the Deputy Prime Minister.

The Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers B. Ovezov reported on the ongoing work in the country to digitalize the economy and create automated electronic information database systems.

The Deputy Prime Minister reported that in the ministries and departments, velayat and city khakimliks, systems of automated electronic information databases are being created, this work is planned to be completed by the end of 2022.

After hearing the report, the head of state emphasized that ensuring the universal accessibility of IT services is one of the key tasks of digitalization. Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of strengthening the material and technical base of the agency "Türkmenaragatnaşyk" and the training of specialists in this area, improving their skills. The creation of a system of automated electronic information databases should also actively involve entrepreneurs who have the right to carry out activities in this area, the President noted.

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Ch. Gylydzhov reported on ongoing work to increase sales of textile products in foreign and domestic markets.

Having listened to the report, the President emphasized that Turkmen textiles are steadily increasing their competitiveness not only in the domestic market, but also abroad thanks to the accelerated development of the core industry based on advanced technologies.

The Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers B. Abdyeva reported on preparations for holding the Culture Week 2020 in the Dashoguz velayat on June 22-27, submitted to the head of state a draft Resolution on organizing a Culture Week in 2021 in the Lebap velayat.

Having listened to the report, the head of state emphasized the importance of the upcoming Week of Culture and holiday events in the Dashoguz velayat for improving the profile sphere and widespread popularization of the national heritage.

The President of Turkmenistan signed a Decree on holding a Culture Week in 2021 in Lebap Province, sending him the Deputy Prime Minister for the electronic document management system.

The Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers P. Agamyradov, summoned by video link, reported on ongoing work to improve the national health care system, education and science.

After hearing the report, the head of state focused on the need to increase the effectiveness of scientific research in all sectors of the economy, expand the range of use of the potential of research institutions, the experience and knowledge of scientists of higher schools, as well as establish cooperation with foreign research and educational centers.

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs R. Meredov reported on measures taken to implement the Program for the Development of Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan for 2020-2025.

The Vice Prime Minister, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was instructed to continue focused work on implementing the principles of economic diplomacy, increasing the investment attractiveness of our country, strengthening its position in the world market.

The Chairman of the Mejlis G. Mammadova informed the head of state about the current activities of the national parliament. On June 20, it is planned to hold the 10th meeting of the Mejlis, at which new legislative documents will be considered.

Addressing the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Secretary of the State Security Council Ch.Amanov, the President emphasized the importance of strictly following the principles and goals of the defensive Military Doctrine of independent neutral Turkmenistan.

At the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, a number of other important issues were also considered, on which relevant decisions were made.
