The 135/136th session of the Customs Cooperation Council of the World Customs Organization was held on June 25, 2020. State Customs Service of Turkmenistan also attended the session. 

During the meeting, issues such as amendments to the Harmonized System for the Description and Coding of Goods for 2022, financial issues and budget approval for 2020–2021 were discussed. The next in-person meeting of Member States was scheduled for December 2020.

Turkmenistan has been a member of the World Customs Organization since May 17, 1993, the date of accession to the Convention on the establishment of the Customs Cooperation Council.

Cooperation between the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and the World Customs Organization has recently intensified significantly. As previously reported, in April this year, a webinar on the revised Kyoto Convention was held with the participation of WCO experts. Also in the coming days, it is planned to conduct training on accession to the International Convention on the Harmonized System for the Description and Coding of Goods.
