The State Customs Service of Turkmenistan held joint events with the UN Office on Drugs and Crime

Within the framework of the plan of joint activities with the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, from 7 to 9 September, a training was held on the topic: "Methods of countering drug trafficking and money laundering obtained as a result of drug trafficking."

The seminar was attended by employees of the State Customs Service, the State Border Service and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan. The three-day training was conducted by teachers from the Siberian Law Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

The online training was accompanied by the study of such topics as Peculiarities of investigation of crimes related to drug trafficking, Operational-investigative counteraction to drug trafficking, Application of information technologies in countering drug trafficking.

Also, on September 10-11, 2020, the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan hosted an online Interregional Expert Meeting within the Interregional Network of Customs Services and Port Control Groups of the CCP of the UNODC Global Program and the World Customs Organization for the Control of Container Traffic

At the meeting, the activities of the Interregional Network - achievements and difficulties were discussed, priorities and needs were summarized, and a draft Concept of the Interregional Operation was presented for discussion.

We remind you that Turkmenistan has joined most of the UN international legal documents related to the UNODC mandate. Turkmenistan became the first country to ratify the agreement on the establishment of the Central Asian Regional Information and Coordination Center (CARICC). As the only member of the UN Commission on Narcotic Drugs from among the countries of the region, Turkmenistan is an active partner of UNODC in the framework of the Paris Pact Initiative.
