International sessions and workshops on customs related issues

All week was full of international events: workshops, trainings and meetings organized by international organizations which customs officers took part in. By tradition, all events were held online.

So, from September 21 to 23, 2020, members of the Port Control Groups (PPC), created under the "Global Program of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the World Customs Organization for the Control of Container Traffic (CCP)" took part in the training on combating illegal trade in species of wild fauna and flora, which was organized by the UNODC Regional Office for Central Asia. Also, the training was attended by representatives of the CPC of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

On September 22, representatives of the State Customs Service took part in the 14th meeting of the Committee for Managing the Mechanism to Promote Implementation and Compliance with the Basel Convention.

The seminar on digitalization of customs and transport procedures in accordance with international standards and agreements, held from 22 to 23 September 2020, was organized by the OSCE Center in Ashgabat. The participants of this seminar were not only representatives of the Customs Service, but also representatives of other ministries and departments, as well as transport agencies of Turkmenistan.

Of course, participation in trainings and seminars at the international level raises the level of awareness of the participants, as well as contributes to capacity building. The State Customs Service of Turkmenistan thanks all event organizers for the excellent organization of workshops and trainings, the richness of the programs and the relevance of the selected topics.
