Workshop on TIR-EPD preliminary declaration system

The development of international customs cooperation, as well as the implementation of international law at the national level is one of the important missions of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan. As an obligation this also determined in the Development Program of the customs system of Turkmenistan for 2017-2021. Within the framework of this program, our cooperation with international organizations and customs services of other countries has recently been expanding and developing.

And in accordance with the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on Concept for the Development of the Digital Economy in Turkmenistan for 2019-2025, the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan is working on the transition to a digital system. In this regard, much attention is paid to the implementation of the Single Window system. On this project we are cooperating with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).

The project is also exploring the possibility of introducing a preliminary cargo declaration system (TIR-EPD). In this context, Customs maintains close cooperation with the International Road Transport Union (IRU).

On September 30, jointly with the International Road Transport Union, a seminar in the format of videoconference was organized for employees of the Customs Automation Department.

During the seminar, the participants received detailed and extensive information about the TIR-EPD preliminary declaration system.
