Introductory seminar on the implementation of the "Single Window" system in Turkmenistan

As previously reported, a Memorandum of Understanding was recently signed between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the United Nations Development Program and the United Nations Trade Development Conference on joint cooperation to promote the implementation of the Single Window for Export-Import Operations project in Turkmenistan. As part of the implementation of this memorandum, on October 29, 2020, the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the United Nations Development Program and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) held an introductory online seminar "Single Window of Turkmenistan in accordance with the revised UNECE Recommendation 33 through a single window. " The seminar was attended by representatives of government agencies of Turkmenistan, UNDP and UNCTAD.

The creation of a "Single Window" system based on the coordinated customs information system "ASYCUDA World" is a priority direction of the Strategy for the Development of Information and Communication Technologies in the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan. This project is also being implemented in the context of the implementation of the second stage of the Concept for the Development of the Digital Economy for 2020-2023.

Modern software is designed to facilitate the establishment of electronic declaration, improvement and simplification of registration and paperwork procedures. "Single window" is a system that allows citizens to provide information in a single structure, as well as prepare the necessary documents as soon as possible.

The formation of a modern infrastructure for effective interdepartmental interaction and operational information exchange opens up new prospects. It is expected that the application of the international experience of the digital economy will significantly simplify customs procedures, which will directly contribute to the intensification of foreign economic activity and the growth of exports of products manufactured in the country.
