Integrated work to prevent the entry of coronavirus into the country was discussed at a meeting

On February 25, 2020, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting with the participation of Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Extraordinary Commission to Combat the Spread of Diseases P. Agamyradov and Minister of Health and Medical Industry N. Amannepesov, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.

The head of state heard reports on the implementation of earlier instructions, due to the fact that the World Health Organization is forecasting a threat of a pandemic - the spread of acute pneumonia in the world caused by the new coronavirus.

During the workshop, they reported on the ongoing comprehensive work to prevent the possible penetration of this dangerous virus into the territory of our country, as well as set specific tasks for further taking appropriate steps in this direction.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that, judging by the information available from WHO, which predicts the risk of a pandemic, you need to be prepared to develop any situation in order to put a reliable barrier to a dangerous infection and protect the health of our compatriots. Therefore, the head of state emphasized, in order to strengthen preventive measures in the country, systematic appropriate control should be carried out.

It is also necessary to continue to regularly hold meetings of the Extraordinary Commission to Combat the Spread of Diseases, at which carefully analyze all incoming information, provide for possible manifestations of infectious diseases and prompt response measures if necessary.

It is necessary to ensure the control of visits of Turkmen citizens traveling abroad for tourism, cultural, sports and other purposes. It is also necessary to continue conducting a thorough medical examination of citizens coming with similar goals to our country, the head of state said.

In all border points of Turkmenistan, it is necessary to continue to conduct enhanced monitoring of the state of health of citizens, to ensure the coordinated activity of all services in this direction, and for the prevention of infectious diseases, the full-fledged operation of diagnostic equipment in checkpoints.

The President further emphasized that it should continue to strictly monitor the availability of sufficient supplies of disinfectants and consumables, pay special attention to the conduct of daily relevant events at border points, international airports, sea, river, road and rail transport, and railway stations.

Speaking about this, the President of Turkmenistan also noted the importance of widespread outreach among the population on the prevention of infectious diseases.

In continuation of the topic, the head of state again emphasized an exclusively responsible and comprehensive approach to solving the problems of preventing the penetration of the aforementioned virus into our country.

Summing up the meeting and noting that caring for the health and well-being of the people is a key priority of state policy, the President emphasized that thanks to the large-scale work, timely measures taken and the precise coordination of the services involved in Turkmenistan, not a single case of dangerous infection with suspected coronavirus has been recorded.

Having instructed to keep under review the issues discussed today and ensure a high organizational level of preventive measures being taken, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov wished the meeting participants success in fulfilling the assigned tasks.
