Presidents of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan held a telephone conversation

On the 27th of March 2020, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.

Having warmly greeted each other, the leaders of the two countries praised the traditionally friendly interstate dialogue, noting the regular nature of bilateral contacts, allowing for timely exchange of views on pressing issues of cooperation and coordinated interaction at the regional and international level.

During a telephone conversation, the President of Turkmenistan informed the head of a neighboring state that he visited the Dashoguz velayat yesterday, where he also met with representatives of the Uzbek diaspora, who during their warm, meaningful conversations talked about their life and daily life.

Confirming the commitment of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan to fraternal relations, built on the principles of constructiveness and strategic partnership, the heads of the two states expressed confidence that trustful contacts at the highest level will continue to serve as a solid basis for the development of effective cooperation across its entire spectrum.

At the end of the telephone conversation, during which a number of priority issues of Turkmen-Uzbek cooperation in various fields were also discussed, Presidents Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Shavkat Mirziyoyev exchanged best wishes to each other and the people of both countries.
