A videoconference was held on container transportation

The State Customs Service of Turkmenistan on a regular basis carries out relevant work to implement the tasks arising from the President's initiatives to create and develop international transport and transit systems and corridors, which have received broad support from the world community.

The State Customs Service of Turkmenistan held a video conference dedicated to increasing the capacity of transit routes in the country and promoting the development of containerized international freight traffic.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the International Seaport of Turkmenbashi, the Transport and Logistics Center of Turkmenistan Open Joint Stock Company and the Turkmen Logistics Association, as well as military personnel at customs posts on the State Border.

At the meeting, one of the main tasks facing the customs authorities to increase the transit capabilities of our country, in addition to the reliable organization of customs control of goods at border crossing points, is to increase the number of international cargo flows through transit corridors. The main directions of creating conditions for the development of containerized cargo and improving customs clearance and registration of containers in the International Seaport of Turkmenbashi, the largest logistics facility in the region, were discussed.

The State Customs Service of Turkmenistan fully complies with the requirements of this international project by participating in a joint project on the "Container Traffic Control Program" jointly with the World Customs Organization and the UN Office on Drugs and Crime.
