Meeting between the Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and representatives of the Customs Administration of the Islamic Republic of Iran

During the16th meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Iranian Commission on Economic Cooperation held in Tehran on October 26, 2021the Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan met with representatives of the Customs Administration of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Where the Parties discussed the state and prospects for the development of bilateral customs cooperation, particularly, issues such as preliminary data exchange between services, exchange of a list of prohibited goods, acceleration of the movement of perishable goods were discussed.

An exchange of views took place on the creation of a single customs post for joint customs control. In this regard, the issue of the possibility of introducing the e-TIR system was considered. The importance of holding bilateral meetings on a regular basis was emphasized.

At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their hope for long-term mutually beneficial cooperation.
