X Gas Congress of Turkmenistan completed its work

On May 22, 2019, the anniversary X Gas Congress of Turkmenistan, which took place in the Avaza national tourist zone for two days, came to an end, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.

On the margins of the forum, participants from 30 countries of the world discussed with the Turkmen partners the possibilities of establishing cooperation. The delegates include the country's long-standing partners in the field of oil and gas - Petronas, Dragon Oil, CNPC, Areti and others, as well as new faces.

Discussion of the TAPI gas pipeline (Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India) was the central theme of the forum. Financial structures, international corporations, as well as state structures,  showed interest in the energy main. According to experts, TAPI is not only a great chance to diversify Turkmen gas supplies, but also an excellent geosocial project aimed at improving the situation in Afghanistan.

In addition to plenary sessions, bilateral meetings with high-ranking state ministers and heads of the oil and gas sector of Turkmenistan were held on the margins of the forum. Behind them, behind closed doors, the parties discussed specific proposals for the development of cooperation.
