On 3–4 September 2025, the 24th Meeting of the Customs Cooperation Committee (CCC) of the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Program was held in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic. The meeting was attended by representatives of the customs administrations of CAREC member countries, the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Korea Customs Service, as well as international experts and development partners.

The objective of the meeting was to review the progress of regional and national projects under the CCC Work Plan for 2024–2025, discuss initiatives to simplify trade procedures, and develop future plans in key areas of cooperation, including integrated risk management, simplification of regional transit procedures, digitalization and the promotion of paperless trade, as well as the introduction of “green customs” principles.

During the sessions, participants discussed the results of the implementation of the CAREC Integrated Trade Agenda up to 2030, the progress of the pilot phase of the Advanced Transit System, issues of transport and logistics infrastructure development, as well as measures to support Authorized Economic Operators and cross-border paperless trade.

The State Customs Service of Turkmenistan was represented at the meeting by the Head of the Department of Customs Control Organization and a staff member. The delegation delivered a brief update on current national projects in customs administration, highlighting the steps taken in the field of digitalization, improvement of transit procedures, and strengthening cooperation within the CAREC framework.

As a result of the meeting, the draft Work Plan of the CCC for 2025–2026 was agreed upon, and the 24th CCC Statement as well as the CCC report for the CAREC National Focal Points Meeting were adopted.
