On 11 September 2025, the Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan held a working meeting with a delegation of the International Road Transport Union (IRU), led by Vakhtang Zarandia, Senior Adviser on TIR and Transit Services.
During the meeting, the parties reviewed issues related to cooperation in international transport under the TIR customs guarantee. In particular, they discussed the signing of a cooperation roadmap between the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and IRU, aimed at further developing and simplifying international transport procedures and improving the TIR guarantee mechanism.
The exchange of experience and practical solutions in the digitalization and modernization of TIR procedures, including the implementation of advanced information systems to automate processes and minimize risks, was a separate topic of the working meeting.
Representatives of THADA also participated in the meeting on behalf of IRU.
