On April 5, 2022, online working meeting was held between customs officials of Turkmenistan and Georgia, during which the participants exchanged practical experience in implementing the Single Window system. The meeting was held at the initiative of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan.
The interest of the Turkmen side in the experience of Georgia is caused by the fact that it is an example of a country that has successfully implemented the “Single Window” system.
For the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan, which acts as the coordinating body of the “Single Window for Export-Import Operations” project being implemented in Turkmenistan, the study of international best practices for the introduction of digital technologies is very important to optimize work in this direction.
During the meeting, questions were raised regarding the organization and operation of the Single Window system, including the procedure for customs clearance and the provision of services within this system. Georgian colleagues provided ready-made presentations and materials in these areas.
At the end of the working meeting, the parties noted the importance of holding events for the exchange of practical experience and expressed hope for further mutually beneficial cooperation.
