On June 14, 2022, in Tehran, meeting of the Chairman of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan Maksat Hudaykulyyev and the President of the Customs Administration of the Islamic Republic of Iran Alireza Mogadasi was held during the official visit of the Government delegation to the Islamic Republic of Iran, chaired by the distinguished President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
Director Generals discussed topical issues and prospects for further development of the Turkmen-Iranian customs cooperation. Each side announced its initiatives aimed at simplifying customs formalities and promoting the development of trade between Turkmenistan and Iran.
Following the meeting, the heads of the customs services of Turkmenistan and Iran signed the Technical Conditions for the electronic exchange of customs data between the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and the Customs Administration of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The document defines the list, types, format of customs data and other information about goods and vehicles transported between Turkmenistan and Iran, which the parties will exchange in advance.
It is expected that such data exchange will facilitate trade relations between the two states, while at the same time will contribute to the effective control of the customs value of goods and the fight against illegal trade.
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed hope for further strengthening of mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation.
