From April 23 to April 28, 2023, representatives of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan were on a working visit to Tashkent, the Republic of Uzbekistan, to participate in the 9th regional meeting of the National Committees for Trade Facilitation in Central Asia as part of the project “Trade Facilitation in Central Asia”, implemented by the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ).
The meeting participants discussed current measures aimed at facilitating cross-border trade, initiatives to digitalize trade procedures and improve access to information for the private sector, as well as further plans and priorities for regional cooperation.
Representatives of the World Trade Center made a presentation on the work of the Trade Portal created in Turkmenistan.
During the visit, representatives of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan, together with experts from the International Road Transport Union (IRU) and employees of the State Customs Committee under the Ministry of Finance and Economy of the Republic of Uzbekistan, visited the Yallama customs post located at the checkpoint on the Uzbek-Kazakh border and got acquainted with the work post with the use of digital customs technologies.
