On January 27, the International Year of Peace and Trust, Defenders of the Fatherland Day was widely celebrated in Turkmenistan. On this occasion, by the Decree of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, officers of the country's military and law enforcement agencies were awarded state awards and promoted to higher military ranks.

Solemn events in honor of the glorious holiday were also held at the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan. As part of the celebrations, distinguished officers were awarded medals of Turkmenistan «Mälikguly Berdimuhamedow, «Watana bolan söýgüsi üçin», «Watan öňündäki birkemsiz harby gullugy üçin» of the II and III degrees, and a number of servicemen were awarded higher military ranks.

After the presentation ceremony, a concert was performed by the ensemble of the State Customs Service. The program included a literary and musical composition dedicated to the Defenders of the Fatherland Day and patriotic songs glorifying our Motherland Turkmenistan.
