On 7th of May, 2025  As part of its efforts to protect the environment and fulfill international commitments, the Turkmenistan Customs Service, in collaboration with the Ozone Center of the Ministry of Environment Protection of Turkmenistan, has conducted a specialized training course for new recruits on preventing the illicit trade of ozone-depleting substances (ODS) and hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs).

The sessions, held at the training facilities of the Arkadag Customs, provided new recruits with an understanding of the international standards and legislative frameworks governing the trade of ozone-depleting substances. Special emphasis was placed on methods for identifying and preventing illegal shipments of these harmful substances into Turkmenistan.

"Education and training for new recruits is a crucial part of our work, especially in such important areas as environmental protection. We are pleased that this course has provided a real platform for knowledge exchange and professional development," said the Head of the Turkmenistan Customs Service.

The training included both theoretical lessons and practical exercises on detecting and preventing violations related to the illicit trade of ozone-depleting substances. The course was part of a broader program to enhance professional qualifications and strengthen Turkmenistan’s international cooperation in environmental protection.
