On 11 September 2025, with the support of the GIZ within the framework of the Regional Project "Trade Facilitation in Central Asia" (TFCA), two online events were held, with active participation from representatives of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan.

The first event took the form of an online meeting of the Regional Working Group on Transport and Transit of Central Asia. Participants reviewed the prepared Concept for the Development of Transport and Transit Potential in the Region and discussed the next steps for its refinement and approval. Particular attention was paid to improving cooperation between the National Trade Facilitation Committees (NTFCs) and implementing the provisions of the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement, in particular Article 7.8 on “Expedited Shipments.”

The second event focused on the implementation of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in the work of customs authorities. International experts noted that in 2024, the World Customs Organization developed and recommended that member countries apply the Methodology for Assessing the Performance of Customs Administrations in their practice. During the seminar, representatives of customs authorities from Central Asia discussed practical aspects of applying this methodology and received guidance on organizing work in accordance with modern international standards.
