
On 17–18 September 2025, in Istanbul, Türkiye, the Tenth Annual High-Level Interregional Meeting of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) Global Container Control Programme (PCCP), combined with the Seventh Interregional Meeting of Experts of the Interregional Network of Customs Administrations and Port Control Units (IREN), was held.
The forum was attended by heads and authorized representatives of customs and competent authorities from the countries of Central Asia, the Black Sea region, the South Caucasus, as well as Pakistan, Türkiye, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and donor organizations.
The delegation of Turkmenistan was headed by the Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan, who delivered a statement at the plenary session. In his address, he emphasized the consistent state policy of Turkmenistan in countering the drug threat, based on international conventions and national legislation, and reaffirmed Turkmenistan’s commitment to the objectives of the PCCP and the development of the Interregional Network of Customs Administrations and Port Control Units (IREN).
In addition, representatives of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan delivered presentations during thematic sessions, sharing national experience in the functioning of the Situation Center and the practical application of interagency cooperation mechanisms to ensure the security of supply chains.
