From 15 to 19 September 2025, a working meeting of specialists from the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan was held in the city of Urgench. The visit was dedicated to conducting a comparative analysis of foreign trade statistics between the two countries. The Turkmen working group was headed by the Head of the Customs Statistics Department of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan.

The meeting was organized within the framework of and in implementation of the Protocol between the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the Exchange of Information on the Movement of Goods in Mutual Trade, signed on 14 July 2022 in Tashkent.

The reconciliation of data on imports and exports of various commodity groups was aimed at identifying and assessing potential discrepancies, which, in turn, allowed the formation of mutually agreed datasets on trade between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan.
