
On 13 October 2025, the 13th Session of the Turkmen-Russian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation was held in Ashgabat. Within the framework of this session, a meeting took place between the Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and Mr. Sergey Vladimirovich Shklyaev, Deputy Head of the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation in the customs sphere, paying particular attention to the issues of digitalization of customs procedures, exchange of specialists, capacity building, as well as cooperation within international formats under the auspices of the World Customs Organization and the CIS.
Following the session of the Intergovernmental Commission, a ceremony of signing bilateral documents took place, during which the Agreement between the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation and the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan on the organization of a simplified procedure for the performance of customs operations for the movement of goods and vehicles between the Russian Federation and Turkmenistan (“Simplified Customs Corridor”) was signed. The Agreement is aimed at creating favorable conditions for mutual trade, accelerating customs procedures, and enhancing the efficiency of customs administration.
