On 30-31 October 2026, the Customs Institute of the Customs Committee under the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan organised an international scientific and practical conference entitled “Customs Control – 2026: Balancing Security and Efficiency – A Path Towards a Safer and More Prosperous Global Trade Environment” in Tashkent.

Representatives of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan took part in the event alongside representatives of international organisations, foreign customs administrations, and academic and educational institutions.

The conference addressed a range of issues, including improving the effectiveness of customs control, ensuring the security of cross-border trade, risk management, and the introduction of digital technologies and artificial intelligence in the customs sphere. Participants also exchanged international experience in these areas.

Representatives of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan shared information on the work being carried out within the national customs system and presented the country's experience and approaches to modernising customs operations, introducing digital solutions and enhancing the effectiveness of customs control.

Participation in the conference provided Turkmen customs officials with an opportunity to exchange experience with their foreign counterparts, strengthen professional contacts and identify promising areas for further international cooperation.
