Turkmen-Korean customs interaction

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov  attaches great importance to strengthening and building up mutually beneficial international partnerships and contributes to this in every way. Interaction with foreign customs services is a special area of activity of the customs authorities of Turkmenistan, aimed at creating conditions for effective and mutually beneficial cooperation. Recently, a lot of work has been done in the field of developing international relations with the customs services of other states. The legal framework for international cooperation of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan has been expanded.

In 2018, interaction between the Turkmen and Korean customs services intensified, due to the mutual economic interests of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea. In August 2018, the Chairman of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan paid a visit to the Republic of Korea, during which he had the opportunity to visit and get acquainted with the activities of the customs authorities of Korea, as well as to meet with the Head of the Korean Customs Service.

Recently, representatives of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan took part in the Turkmen-Korean seminar organized by the Korean Customs Service, which was held from November 11 to 15, 2019 in Seoul. The seminar was held according to a special program, the main theme of which was the automation and digitalization of the customs system.

Our delegation got acquainted with the current state of the electronic government of South Korea, and also learned about the possibilities and advantages of the digital system, saw the work of the Korean customs authorities.
