On October 17, 2019, a meeting with the regional representative of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in Central Asia, Ashita Mittal, was held at the Central Office of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan.
Ashita Mittal thanked the customs service for the opportunity to meet and discuss issues related to the strategy of the regional representative office for the medium term, and also praised the active participation of the customs service in the UNODC customs capacity-building project and the UNODC-WCO Global Container Control Programme.
During the meeting, a Plan of Practical Measures (“Road Map”) was discussed to further develop cooperation between Turkmenistan for 2019–2021, which was signed in July this year.
In conclusion, the parties emphasized the need to further strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation.
