Yesterday, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held an online working meeting with the participation of the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers being in charge of the agro-industrial complex and velayats’ khyakims. The key issues of socio-economic development of the regions and the course of seasonal agricultural work were submitted for consideration.

The President of Turkmenistan gave the first floor to the khyakim of the Akhal velayat Ya.Gurbanov. The head of the regional administration reported on the pace of vegetative irrigation and mineral fertilization currently conducted in wheat fields, as well as on measures taken to prevent the occurrence of diseases and control pests of crops. It was reported on the taken measures on the organization of cotton sowing at the proper level according to the established agro-technical deadlines.

As reported, every effort is being made in the velayat to obtain high yields of potatoes, onions and other types of vegetable crops. At the same time, great importance is attached to the expansion of forest zones and the care of planted trees. Along with this, the necessary measures are being taken to organize the cocoon production season.

It was reported on the preparation for the presentation of significant dates, including events on the occasion of World Health Day.

Further, the khyakim of the Balkan velayat T.Atakhalliyev reported on the state of affairs in the western region of the country, on the pace of seasonal work on grain care in order to obtain a generous harvest.

As reported, along with work on wheat fields, the necessary efforts are being made to use agricultural machinery and equipment in cotton sowing with full power. Comprehensive measures are being implemented aimed at obtaining high yields of potatoes, onions and other vegetable crops.

The head of the regional administration reported on the organized holding of the spring mass planting of tree seedlings and proper care for them, as well as on the preparation for the cocoon harvesting season in the velayat.

At the same time, the khyakim reported on the fulfillment of the instructions previously given by the head of state on the implementation of the National Rural Program and accelerating the pace of construction of residential buildings, roads and other engineering facilities in the region.

There was also information about the preparations for the organized holding of significant dates, including the program of events planned on the occasion of World Health Day.

Further, the khyakim of Dashoguz velayat N.Nazarmyradov reported on the pace of seasonal agricultural work on agricultural land, measures taken to care for grain and the completion of cotton sowing on time and at a high quality level.

It was reported that all efforts are being directed to the cultivation of high yields of potatoes, onions and other vegetable crops, the expansion of forest areas of the region, continuous care of previously planted trees, and comprehensive preparation for the cocoon production season.

In addition, khyakim reported on the preparations for the planned mass events dedicated to the World Health Day, widely celebrated in the country.

The head of state noted the importance of issues related to ensuring food abundance in the country, increasing the yield of potatoes and other fruit and vegetable crops as part of the implementation of the National Rural Program.

Emphasizing the conclusion of contracts with cocoon producers in the velayat and providing them with high-quality silkworm grass, the head of state said that work in this direction should be carried out on the basis of the achievements of modern science and best practices.

The online working meeting continued with the report of the khyakim of the Lebap velayat Sh.Amangeldiev about the current state of affairs in the region, including the care of wheat fields, timely and high-quality sowing of cotton.

In addition, the work on obtaining a plentiful harvest of potatoes, onions and other crops should be carried out at a high and qualitative level. Speaking about the cocoon production season, the country’s President noted the importance of this valuable raw material for the textile industry and said that the work carried out in this area should be organized in accordance with the requirements of the time.

The head of state emphasized the high-quality construction and timely commissioning of cultural and household facilities in the velayat and gave a number of instructions to the khyakim.

Highlighting the importance of the events planned for the World Health Day, which are of great importance for strengthening the health and increasing the enthusiasm of Turkmen citizens, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov assigned to ensure a high level of their organization.

Then the khyakim of Mary velayat D.Annaberdiyev reported on the progress of seasonal work in the region, including the vegetation irrigation of cereals and fertilizing them with mineral fertilizers, carried out in accordance with the norms of agricultural technology, as well as on the measures taken to ensure timely and high-quality sowing of cotton.

As reported, in accordance with agro-technical requirements, care is being taken for crops of potatoes, onions and other vegetable crops to obtain high yields. At the same time, during the spring season of mass tree planting, as well as seedlings are planted and cared for at the proper level.

At the same time, appropriate measures are being taken to organize the cocoon production season in the region. In addition, in accordance with the National Rural Program and the Program for Socio-Economic Development of the country for 2019-2025, the construction of socio-cultural facilities, residential buildings, roads, water and sewage treatment plants continues at an accelerated pace.

After hearing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of timely and high-quality seasonal agricultural work. Grain caring and cotton sowing should also be carried out on schedule, efficiently and at a high organizational level.

Then Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers E.Orazgeldiev reported on the progress of seasonal field work.

In order to obtain a high grain yield, additional fertilizing and watering of crops, treatment of plants with means of protection against agricultural pests are carried out these days.

The Deputy Prime Minister also reported that in the whole country, cotton sowing was carried out on an area of 129,659 hectares. All measures have been taken to conduct it in a timely manner, in accordance with the norms of agricultural technology.

In order to provide the population with domestic food, 30 thousand hectares were planted with early potatoes, 10 thousand hectares with onions, 1,500 hectares with cabbage and 3 thousand hectares with carrots. Currently, these crops are being cared for at a high rate.

Currently 1,658,915 trees have been planted by ministries and departments, khyakimliks of velayats and the city of Ashgabat. The care of these seedlings is also organized.

The Deputy Prime Minister reported that this year Turkmen silk growers planned to produce 2,300 tons of cocoons. Now in the country’s regions, the harvesting of grain is underway, contracts are being concluded with cocoon producers.

After hearing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov focused on the need to carry out agro-technical measures in accordance with the norms, efficiently and on time. Machinery during the sowing of cotton should work consistently and uninterrupted.

The President of Turkmenistan noted that all measures should be taken to obtain high yields of potatoes, onions and other vegetable products, giving specific instructions to the Deputy Prime Minister in this regard.

The head of state emphasized the importance of expanding the boundaries of forest plantations in order to improve the ecological state of the country and strengthen the health of the population. Care of plantings should be carried out according to the requirements.

The Deputy Prime Minister was also commissioned to organize the cocoon harvesting season. Contracts should be concluded with cocoon producers in the velayats, and they are provided with high-quality grana.

Addressing all the meeting participants, the head of state underlined that the work carried out these days should contribute to the further socio-economic development of the Motherland and improve the living standards of Turkmen citizens, giving specific instructions in this regard.
