Yesterday, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, together with the Hero-Arkadag in the capital's Hezreti Omar mosque, built with the blessing of Haji Arkadag, gave a funeral sadaka-agzachar (charitable iftar) on the occasion of the commemoration day of Malikguly aga, which this year fell on the blessed month of Ramadan.
As the time of agzachar (iftar)approached, the head of state, together with Haji Arkadag, arrived at the mosque. Here, the mufti of Turkmenistan recited the “ayat” in memory of the dear grandfather of the President of Turkmenistan, Malikguly aga, praying to the Almighty for the repose of the soul of the deceased.
In a conversation with the mufti, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Haji Arkadag emphasized that the honorary elders of the country should pay attention to the continuation of centuries-old exemplary national traditions and principles, educate the younger generation in the spirit of true patriotism, and effectively carry out relevant work.
In this regard, the mufti assured that all the tasks in this direction will be honorably fulfilled.
Then the head of state and Haji Arkadag proceeded to the premises intended for holding sadaka (charity).
Here, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, addressing the audience, emphasized that all conditions are being created in the state so that our citizens can follow national traditions, making pilgrimages to the holy places of our country, visiting mosques, observing our spiritual rites and customs.
The head of state, saying that today, following the sacred traditions of our people, he gives sadaka on the occasion of the day of commemoration of his grandfather Malikguly
Berdimuhamet ogly, who this year fell on the blessed month of Ramadan, thanked the audience for the honor of participating in sadaka.
Then, according to the centuries-old tradition, in memory of the deceased, the mufti of Turkmenistan read the “tebarek” prayer service for the peace of his soul in paradise.
With the advent of agzachar, the guests were served dishes of national cuisine in accordance with centuries-old traditions. All this has become a clear reflection, according to the spirit of the times, of the noble customs created throughout history by our wise ancestors and which are a worthy example to the whole world. These traditions are passed on to the descendants due to the interconnection of generations.
At the end of the meal, the words of the “ayat-tovir” prayer were offered and wishes that the sadaka-agzachar given by the head of Turkmenistan be accepted by the Almighty.
Then, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, having expressed his wish: “May peace, unity and prosperity always reign on the Turkmen land!”, once again thanked all the participants of the sadaka.
