Yesterday, the 12th meeting of the International Association of Akhal-Teke Horse Breeding was held at the Oguzkent Hotel in the capital under the chairmanship of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
The annual forum, traditionally held on the eve of the National Day of the Turkmen Horse, is an open platform for effective interaction for horse breeders from different countries specializing in breeding purebred Akhal-Teke horses, contributing to the enhancement of the world fame of the legendary "heavenly" horses - an invaluable asset and pride of the Turkmen people.
In Turkmenistan, the homeland of the famous "paradise" horses, a large-scale work is being carried out to preserve, study and develop the national art of horse breeding, popularize and continue in the modern epoch its rich traditions dating back thousands of years, stimulate equestrian sports, expand fruitful cooperation in these areas with all interested foreign partners.
The International Akhal-Teke Horse Breeding Association, established in 2010 on the initiative of the Hero-Arkadag and headquartered in Ashgabat, is called upon to serve these goals, now uniting specialists, hippologists, and other connoisseurs of "winged" horses from all over the world. Its regular meetings provide an opportunity to discuss the prospects and current areas of partnership, enrich its content with new joint projects and business contacts, and exchange experience.
An exhibition was timed to coincide with the meeting of the Association, the exposition of which included works of fine, decorative-applied, carpet and jewelry art, as well as photographs dedicated to the Akhal-Teke horses.
Turkmen seyis have been working for centuries to improve this phenomenal breed of horses, preserving its purity and unique qualities. Graceful camp, unsurpassed beauty, grace and agility of the Akhal-Teke horses, their noble disposition are a clear result of the high level of skill of horse breeders and folk breeders.
