On April 21, 2022, representatives of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan took part in a Virtual Trade Roundtable organized by the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP), US Department of Commerce.
During the roundtable, representatives of the Commercial Law Development Program shared their proposals on trade development measures and introduced the participants to international practice in removing barriers to trade throughout the region. The experts also voiced their questions regarding the promotion of e-commerce in the country and the region. Key issues of trade were touched upon, namely regarding customs procedures, digital trade, intellectual property rights.
CLDP is aimed at promoting the development of trade and economic relations in the countries of Central Asia, as well as between Central Asia and other countries and regions of the world. CLDP's work in this area contributes to the goals of the US-Central Asia Trade and Investment Framework (TIFA).
