As known, on June 1, Turkmenistan together with the world community traditionally marks International Children’s Day. Having ratified the Convention on the rights of the Child adopted by the UN, our country in action demonstrates a high responsibility to ensure optimal conditions for the life of its young citizens. Yesterday, on the eve of this wonderful date, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov visited the "Döwletliler köşgi" Palace (Palace of Orphans) in the capital, where he took part in festive events.

In the morning, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov arrived in the square in front of the "Döwletliler köşgi" Palace, white marble-coated buildings, built in the southern part of the capital, at the picturesque piedmont of the Kopetdag.

Young inmates of the Palace, who prepared the joyful song and dance programs on this occasion, welcomed the President of Turkmenistan with great inspiration and joy. The «Döwletliler köşgi» Palace provides wonderful conditions for children to display their creative skill and gift and to engage various forms of art.

Having appreciated worthily the skill of young actors, the head of the state proceeded to the buildings of the Palace. There, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov visited the library and museum complex, where at the disposal of children, are numerous books giving them an opportunity to broaden their outlook, rise their intellectual potential and familiarize with modern knowledge. The museum houses various materials, including those, which are in the video format and tell of the history of establishment of the «Döwletliler köşgi» Palace and its activity.

Further, the President of Turkmenistan talked to children of the Palace. Addressing children, the head of the state inquired after their life, recreation, pastime as well as their study, their progress and completion of the academic year.

Having made an emphasis on the onset of summer, a period of school vacations, and having noted that modern children creation centres are located in different parts of our country, including in the wonderful natural location of Gökdere and Avaza national tourist zone, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov got interested in where children would like to spend their vacations. 

As President Serdar Berdimuhamedov underlined, on June 1, our country, like the entire world, marks International Children’s Day. At the same time, for children, who have finished their school, final examinations start. With the onset of summer holidays, young Turkmen nationals spend their vacations in recreation centres of children built in the most beautiful parts of the country and improve their health.

Having sincerely congratulated children of the «Döwletliler köşgi» Palace on International Children’s Day as well as successful completion of the academic year, the head of Turkmenistan noted that our state also attends to the fact that children should enjoy proper recreation, get high quality education and due care. In the year, the motto of which is the “Epoch of people with Arkadag”, in all parts of the country on a regular basis modern secondary and nursery schools will be built and commissioned into operation. 

Addressing children, the President of Turkmenistan encouraged them into diligence and wished them to work hard. Children are our future and flowers of our life. Therefore, all the best is for you and it will be always so, the head of the state pointed out. We will further ensure that our children study well, recreate and display their skill and gift. We will create all conditions for education of the well-read, talented, physically fit, spiritually rich younger generation. Young Turkmen nationals will always feel care and support of the state, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov said.

Once again, having congratulated all with International Children’s Day and completion of the academic year sincerely, the head of Turkmenistan wished children sound health, great success in their study and life so that they will grow worthy sons and daughters of their fatherland.

In their turn, answering questions of the President of Turkmenistan, children with proud told of wonderful conditions created for them for fruitful study, proper recreation and useful pastime, their hobbies as well as the fact that in addition to their classes, they engage in creative work and also attach due attention to physical training and sports.

By the way, the pride of the «Döwletliler köşgi» Palace are its children, holders of prizes of the children’s contest named after Gulbaba, winners of nationwide creative competitions, in particular, contests  “Garaşsyzlygyň merjen däneleri” and multi-fold prize winners of international festivals.

Young hosts of the palace expressed their sincere gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan for his all-round care and attention, thanks to which, they can live happily and look into the future confidently and realize their dreams.

Further, on the occasion of the holiday, on behalf of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov children of the «Döwletliler köşgi» Palace were presented with gifts, which were received by them with great joy.

It is noteworthy that on June 1, children will get festive presents on behalf of Hero Arkadag at the expense of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Fund for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship. In this regard, one should underline that for gifts to young Turkmen nationals, who are in need of special social support, on the occasion of International Children’s Day a total of 500 thousand manats have been allocated by the Charitable Fund.

At the request of children, the head of the state was photographed with them a keepsake and after it, familiarized himself with conditions of life and classrooms having been interested in their profile equipment. The attention of the President of Turkmenistan was also caught by the opportunities envisaged for practice of physical training and various sports that serves as main factor for improvement of health of the growing generation.

Having pointed out that since the commissioning of the «Döwletliler köşgi» Palace into operation has passed many years, its buildings have grown old and they require repairs, the head of the state informed that in the near future, it is planned to renovate the Palace. Premises located here will be reconstructed and re-equipped with advanced modern technologies. In a word, all conditions will be created for proper recreation and rise of level of education of young people, the President of Turkmenistan said, having given concrete instructions to relevant authorities.

Then, the head of the state left the building of the «Döwletliler köşgi» Palace and on the square in front of it, the joyful musical programs again unfolded. 

Having warmly said good-bye to children and having expressed his best wishes to them, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov left the place of the event.

As Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov underlines, children who, have been deprived of their parents, are not left alone in Turkmen society. In this regard, one should note that since the moment of its establishment, the Charitable Fund has carried out wide and efficient work. The Council of Elders, which functions under its supervision, is called to provide all-round support to the Fund in solution of tasks and various issues set before it. All this enables children fully to feel care they are surrounded with and take a worthy place in society.

It should be mentioned that in the past year, the Charitable Fund decided to allocate new ambulance cars provided with modern profile equipment, which were transferred by designation, to paediatric units of hospitals of districts and cities of regions of Turkmenistan. 

This year, the motto of which is he “Epoch of people with Arkadag”, this noble activity continues. As was already informed, recently a number of operations on orphan children and children of low-income families have been made in the best local clinics, the Centre for Maternal and Child Health of Lebap region, Children’s hospital of Mary region and Centre for Maternal and Child Health of Ashgabat city at the expense of financial aid from the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Fund for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship.

As concrete examples, one can cite such facts that only in May of the current year, the given Fund has financed operations of children from low-income families on the heart as well as knee joints of both legs, which were carried out in the International Cardiology Centre and Scientific Clinical Centre for Maternal and Child Health in Ashgabat. At the expense of the Charitable Fund, 23 children have undergone medical examination in the International Surgery and Endocrinology Centre. For this purpose, a large amount of funds in the national currency was allocated.

Besides it, the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Fund for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship has allocated 200 thousand US dollars for purchase of supplies for open heart surgery with use of bypass with an oxygenator as well as for X-ray endovascular operations with application of occlude, a special device, which enables closure of defect in the interatrial septum for children with congenital heart defects.

The far-sighted state strategy realized in Turkmenistan in the given area yields visible results. Annually, more and more young Turkmen national, who take an active part in various competitions as well as in mass sports events held in our country,  are involved in practice of sports. For example, this year, children of the “Döwletliler Köşgi” Palace also joined with great enthusiasm the traditional bicycle race held in the capital on the occasion of World Bicycle Day, in which President Serdar Berdimuhamedov took part.  Following the itinerary, children demonstrated their skill in riding of bicycles presented to them by Hero Arkadag. It is noteworthy that young sportsmen of the “Döwletliler Köşgi” Palace have already participated in such sports and health actions for several times.

This year, according to the noble tradition established in the country, solemn ceremonies of awarding of mothers, who have given birth to eight and more children, in accordance with the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan were granted the honorary title “Ene mähri” took place and mothers of many children were presented with keys to flats of modern conveniences and it became an unforgettable event for new tenants on the occasion of International Women’s Day in the capital and all regional centres of the country.

Thus, independent neutral Turkmenistan can be fully named as the country of happy childhood where cherished dreams come true. And sunny smiles on faces of our young compatriots can serve the best example for it.
