Yesterday, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Vice President of the Republic of Turkey Fuat Oktay, who is the co-chairman of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Turkish Commission on Economic Cooperation and arrived in Ashgabat at the head of his country’s delegation to participate in the next meeting of this commission.
Expressing gratitude for the opportunity of personal meeting, the guest conveyed to the head of state cordial greetings and a written message from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, as well as an invitation to visit the Republic of Turkey. As it was emphasized, Turkey attaches great importance to strengthening fruitful relations with fraternal Turkmenistan based on common historical roots and principles of mutually beneficial partnership.
Thanking for the kind words, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov addressed warm greetings in return to the President of the Republic of Turkey, noting with satisfaction the high level of traditionally friendly interstate dialogue, dynamically developing both in bilateral and multilateral formats, within the framework of reputable regional and international organizations.
During the meeting, the head of state and his guest exchanged views on the prospects of the Turkmen-Turkish partnership, which has a solid potential. In this context, it was noted the significant role of the Intergovernmental Commission, whose activities are aimed at building productive trade and economic ties, implementing the agreements reached, identifying new topical areas of interaction, entering into new joint projects.
As President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted, having embarked on industrialization and diversification of the economy, Turkmenistan relies on the formation of a modern industrial infrastructure, the active introduction into practice of advanced achievements of modern science and technology, innovative developments. In turn, this creates ample opportunities for effective cooperation with foreign, particularly, Turkish partners.
At the end of the meeting, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Vice President of the Republic of Turkey Fuat Oktay expressed confidence that the traditionally friendly interstate cooperation will continue to successfully develop on a mutually beneficial long-term basis, being filled with new concrete content.
