On November 21, 2022, following the results of high-level bilateral negotiations held within the framework of the official visit of the esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the United Arab Emirates, a number of documents were signed, including the Agreement on cooperation and mutual assistance in customs matters between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Government of the United Arab Emirates.
The agreement is aimed at improving the interaction between the customs services of Turkmenistan and the United Arab Emirates. The document provides for cooperation and mutual assistance in the field of prevention of customs offenses, exchange of information in terms of ensuring compliance with customs legislation. The Parties will cooperate in the field of joint research, development and application of new customs procedures, as well as in the field of personnel training.
The State Customs Service of Turkmenistan pays special attention to building up cooperation with Customs Services of foreign countries, as well as actively mastering world experience. Thanks to the policy of strengthening interstate cooperation pursued by the esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, this year the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan has already signed seven international documents on cooperation. This is the first time such a number of documents have been signed.
