From December 6 to 8, 2022, a regional seminar on the Lapis Lazuli transit and transport corridor, organized by the OSCE Center in Ashgabat, was held at the Yildyz hotel in the capital.
The seminar was attended by representatives of ministries and departments of Turkmenistan, whose activities are related to transport processes. Participants from Azerbaijan, Georgia, Georgia, Republic of Turkey, Republic of Tajikistan and Republic of Uzbekistan attended online.
During the workshop, the Strategy and Action Plan for the Development of the Transit Corridor was presented by the international expert on transport facilitation and connectivity, Mr. Lazar Ristic.
The representative of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan, who delivered a speech, noted that the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan, in order to develop transit corridors passing through the territory of the country, is consistently working on further digitalization of customs procedures in order to increase the competitiveness of transit corridors and attract additional transit cargo flows. Measures are being taken to further simplify the customs control mechanism and speed up customs clearance.
