On February 28, 2023, Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and the Steering Committee of the Global Program of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime and the World Customs Organization for the Container Control met via videoconference.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the implementation of the CCP, assessed the scope of the ongoing work under this program, and also considered the Action Plan for 2023.
As noted, the cooperation between the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, in the context of the implementation of CCP, is developing noticeably. Over the past 2022, within the framework of this Program, 24 customs officers visited different countries to participate in events dedicated to the fight against drug trafficking and joint cooperation in this area, as well as about 51 officers were participants in various trainings, conferences, round tables and meetings held in Turkmenistan.
