On April 24, 2023, a working meeting was held between the Chairman of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to Turkmenistan Azizbek Madmarov.

Expressing gratitude for the opportunity to meet, the Ambassador informed about the purpose of his visit and assured that he would make every effort to further expand and strengthen the Turkmen-Kyrgyz customs cooperation.

During the meeting, the Ambassador was informed about the state program aimed at developing the customs authorities of Turkmenistan for 2022-2028, which involves a full-scale modernization of the customs system and is aimed at promoting the development of international trade, creating favorable conditions for the development of the export potential of Turkmenistan, ensuring the provision of digital customs services and development of international cooperation.

The parties discussed issues of improving the efficiency of cooperation between the customs services of the two countries in various areas, including issues of information exchange, comparison of statistical data, use of the transit potential of the two countries in order to increase mutual trade.

It was noted that it is necessary to conclude an interstate agreement in the field of customs, which will lay the foundation for the development of cooperation between the customs administrations of the two countries in various areas of activity.
