On June 7, 2023, a meeting was held at the Central Office of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan with Ms. Fesilitas Zik, Head of the Trade Facilitation in Central Asia project of the Society for International Cooperation of the Federal Republic of Germany, and Ms. Birgit Viol, expert.

The heads of the service received the delegation and discussed the steps to be taken by the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan on the transition to a digital system, the facilitation of trade operations, the transition to an electronic, digital version of the goods-vehicle system used in international road traffic. transport, facilitation of operations of transit and bilateral international road transport through the territory of Turkmenistan, international exchanged views on the tasks to be solved in the field of digitization of the TIR Carnet used in road freight transport and the provision of preliminary information about the cargo, as well as the tasks that need to be be resolved within the framework of trade facilitation.

Also during the meeting, the parties noted the ongoing work to develop further cooperation.
