On July 25, 2023, the Turkmen-Uzbek working meeting of representatives of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and the Customs Committee under the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan took place online.

The main topic of the meeting was the discussion of various aspects of electronic preliminary informing of customs authorities about goods and vehicles.

Uzbek colleagues shared the practice of using the preliminary information system, including the application of the International Road Transport Union TIR-EPD, and the typical mistakes of carriers when working with it.

The parties also discussed technical issues related to the processes of information transfer between the customs authorities of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan within the framework of a previously concluded bilateral agreement.

The protocol on organizing the exchange of preliminary information on goods and vehicles moving across the customs border between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan was signed on October 5, 2021.
