From October 9, 2023, a five-day regional seminar on the development of professional ethics for customs officers in the European Region of the World Customs Organization is being held at the Archabil Hotel in the capital. Organized at the initiative of the WCO together with the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and with the support of the Korea Customs Cooperation Foundation, the seminar brought together more than 20 customs officers from 14 countries.

The purpose of the seminar is to increase integrity among customs administration officials of member countries of the WCO European Region by raising awareness of the importance of implementing the revised Arusha Declaration.

Representatives of the customs administrations of Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Germany, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Serbia, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Moldova, as well as WCO experts at the regional level discuss the importance of implementing integrity measures and their key role in trade facilitation.

This workshop provides an opportunity for customs administrations to share their national experiences in implementing transparency and predictability measures and the progress made in implementing the Revised Arusha Declaration.

During this event, various participants and moderators representing the region's customs administrations, as well as a group of WCO technical staff and experts, exchange ideas on specific initiatives to promote transparency and predictability in customs administrations.

The seminar will continue until October 13, 2023.
