Today, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting via a digital system with the participation of Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T. Atahallyev, who is in charge of the agro-industrial complex, and the khyakims of velayats to review the progress of agricultural work in the country.
The word was first given to Akhal Velayat Khyakim R. Hojagulyev, who reported on the pace of agricultural campaigns in the region.
As was reported, these days, wheat care, land plowing and planning for cotton sowing continue in accordance with agro-technical standards.
The preparation of agricultural machinery and equipment for the spring season, as well as high-quality seeds for the timely supply of cotton growers is at the finishing stage. The necessary measures are taken to prepare for planting potatoes, onions and other vegetable, watermelon and melon crops within the agro-technical time frame.
Along with this, irrigation and collector-drainage systems are cleaned to improve the land reclamation condition.
The report included information on the work in progress to maintain the trouble-free operation of heating systems at residential buildings, schools and kindergartens, as well as energy, gas and water supplies.
Having heard the report, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of conducting seasonal agricultural campaigns at the proper level, instructing the khyakim to ensure the compliance with agro-technical standards when treating fields sown to wheat and proper preparation for the spring sowing of cotton, vegetable, watermelon and melon crops.
Then Balkan Velayat Khyakim H. Ashyrmyradov reported on the progress of agricultural work in the region.
As was reported, the planning of lands allocated for cotton, the preparation of agricultural machinery and equipment to be operated in the upcoming sowing season, and high-quality seeds adapted to the soil and climatic conditions of the region are currently ongoing.
Treatment is carried out in the wheat fields of the velayat taking into account agro-technical standards.
At the same time, appropriate steps are taken to complete the sowing of potatoes, onions and other vegetable, watermelon and melon crops in accordance with agro-technical standards.

Summing up the report, the head of state emphasized the importance of ensuring the high quality of agricultural work ongoing these days, instructing the governor of the region to keep under constant control the compliance with the agro-technical requirements when treating wheat fields, preparing land and high-quality seeds for sowing cotton, as well as for planting vegetable, watermelon and melon crops.
The working meeting via a digital system was continued with a report from Dashoguz Velayat Khyakim S. Soltanmyradov on the progress of agricultural work in the region.
As was reported, mineral fertilizers are applied to the lands sown to wheat in accordance with agro-technical standards. Plowing has been fully completed as part of preparing the areas for the cotton sowing, and land leveling and planning, and soil washing operations are currently underway.
The report also covered the preparation of agricultural machinery and equipment for the spring season, providing cotton growers with high-quality seeds adapted to the natural and climatic conditions of the region.
At the same time, the plowing of lands allocated for potatoes, onions and other crops had been completed in the velayat, and vegetation irrigation and seeds stocking are carried out.
Cleaning of irrigation canals and drainage networks and surroundings of areas under crops continues in the agricultural lands of the velayat.
In accordance with the instructions of the President of Turkmenistan, the proper operation of heating systems at residential buildings, schools, kindergartens, as well as the trouble-free supply of electricity, natural gas and drinking water to the population are under constant control.
Summing up the report, the head of state emphasized that in order to grow and gather a bountiful harvest, all agricultural work must be carried out taking into account agro-technical standards. In this regard, the khyakim was instructed to ensure proper care for wheat and preparation for sowing cotton within agro-technical terms, as well as supply farmers with high-quality seeds of cotton, vegetable watermelon and melon crops.
Then, Lebap Velayat Khyakim Sh. Amangeldiev reported on the progress of seasonal agricultural work in the eastern region of the country.
As was reported, land planning, irrigation and application of mineral fertilizers are under way in order to prepare for sowing cotton, as well as provision of tenants with high-quality seeds adapted to the soil and climatic conditions of the region, and the repair of machinery and equipment.

At the same time, in order to prepare fields for the spring cotton sowing, land is leveled, mineral fertilizers are applied, and machinery and equipment to be operated in the upcoming work are prepared. Farmers are provided with selected seeds adapted to the soil and climatic conditions of the velayat.

As was reported, in order to fulfill the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan “On growing a bountiful wheat harvest in Turkmenistan in 2024” and strengthening food abundance, wheat is cared for taking into account agro-technical requirements.
Preparations for sowing continue in the areas allocated for cotton.
Measures are taken to provide farmers with high-quality seeds. In particular, seeds are stocked at cotton ginning enterprises. Agricultural machinery and equipment are repaired and prepared for the season.

Having heard the report and emphasizing the importance of the challenges facing the agro-industrial complex, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed the deputy prime minister to keep the focus on preparing for the upcoming sowing in the areas allocated for cotton and providing high-quality seeds, meeting agro-technical deadlines and standards when caring for wheat, organized completion of planting potatoes and other vegetable, watermelon and melon crops, as well as supplying farmers with high-quality seeds.
Addressing the governors of velayats, the head of state ordered to keep under strict control the implementation at a high quality level and on time of the work planned for 2024 under the Program for the Socio-Economic Development of the Country in 2022–2028 and the National Rural Program.
The President of Turkmenistan also instructed to keep under control the trouble-free operation of heating systems at social facilities and the provision of electricity, natural gas and drinking water to the population.
