Thanks to government support and the creation of good conditions for the growth of the country’s export potential, great opportunities are currently opening up in Turkmenistan to expand the range of export goods. In connection with this, the volume of Turkmen goods exported to foreign countries is increasing. The main position in the country’s export structure occupies agricultural products.

In particular, the growth rate of tomato exports is increasing annually, the main importers of which are the Russian Federation, the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic.

In January-March 2024, the volume of exported tomato increased by 3% compared to the same period in 2023. During this period, the volume of tomatoes sent to Kazakhstan increased by 20%.

Thus, analyzing the period from 2020 to 2023, we see that the increase was 239%. In 2023, domestic exporters sold 128 thousand tons of tomatoes, which is 3.4 times more than in 2020. At the same time, 57% of the total volume of tomato exports was carried out to the Russian Federation and 28% to Kazakhstan.
