Training seminar on Control over the circulation of ozone-depleting substances

On the basis of the Training Center under the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan, a training seminar was held on the topic “Control over the circulation of ozone-depleting substances”. The seminar was organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan. The seminar was attended by recruits who undergo vocational training, as well as the personnel of the Training Center.

In today's world, like many other industrial chemicals, ozone-depleting substances are daily shipped to the world market to meet industrial, agricultural and consumer needs. Unlike other chemicals, ozone-depleting substances deplete the Earth’s ozone layer by entering the atmosphere. That is why their trade is strictly controlled in accordance with an international treaty known as the Montreal Protocol. The experts gave complete information in an accessible form.

The customs authorities, in exercising control over the goods transported across the border, contribute to the fight against illicit trade, so it is imperative that customs officers have the necessary training and information to control ODS trade and prevent their illegal trade.

At the end of the seminar its participants were awarded certificates.
