Respected President met with the deputy corps

The meeting of the Respected President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov with the deputy corps was held on February 7, 2019 in the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, at which the tasks of the national parliament were specified, and priority areas of legislative work were identified in the context of the adopted Program of Socio-Economic Development of the country for 2019-2025.

Greeting those present, the Head of State addressed everyone with a speech. Noting that over the years of independence, our country has been able to prove to the world the ability to ensure the dynamics of its own development, having reached the most important milestones in socio-economic progress, the President noted with satisfaction the significant contribution of the Mejlis deputies to these successes, strengthening the legislative framework and expressed heartfelt appreciation to parliamentarians.

Time does not stand still. The world is changing, transforming. There are new technologies, large-scale projects. In order to keep pace with the world economy, we recently adopted a program of socio-economic development of the country for 2019-2025, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said, stressing that in order to make it happen, we must all work together in good faith and with the Mejlis of Turkmenistan and the Government and society.

The concept of the development of the digital economy in Turkmenistan for 2019-2025 should also serve to fully implement the state program, the Leader of the Nation continued, drawing attention of the deputies on the need for urgent work to create a reliable legal framework for the development of the domestic digital economy.

Speaking about the Concept of development of the digital education system, aimed at providing all levels of education with educational information in electronic format, enriching and improving the quality of knowledge and teaching methods, the President also directed the deputies of the Mejlis to improve the relevant legislation.

One of the most important tasks for the close future is the increase in the number of dayhan farms, the involvement of entrepreneurs in agricultural production, the cultivation of rich harvests of various types of crops, the solution of water issues, the creation of food abundance in the country.

The Turkmen Leader also justified the need to update legislative measures to promote the state’s development of culture, physical culture and sports.

As you know, our state is committed to the foreign policy concept of permanent positive neutrality approved by the Resolution of the General Assembly of the United Nations. In this context, Turkmenistan pursues a peace-loving policy aimed at maintaining peace and stability in Central Asia and in the world.

The Head of State recommended the deputies of the Mejlis to continue intensively to continue work on the development of friendly relations and fruitful cooperation with reputable international and inter-parliamentary organizations.
