Representative of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan K.Ahmedov successfully completed the 10-month the WCO-Japan Career Development Programme (CDP) for 2023-2024. His candidacy was selected from more than a hundred other applicants from all WCO member countries. It should be noted that Turkmenistan participated in this Program for the first time.
The Career Development Programme is an initiative launched in 2009 by the WCO, in cooperation with Japan Customs. It provides an opportunity for selected candidates, to undertake work at the WCO Secretariat for 10 months and to obtain knowledge, skills and international work experience, and to enhance networks among WCO Members and the Secretariat.
Within the Program for 2023-2024, which began in September 2023, K. Ahmedov worked in the Capacity Building Department of the WCO Secretariat and reported the results of their ten-month research to the WCO's senior management.
The program ended with a ceremony at which World Customs Organization Secretary General Ian Saunders awarded the 10 Professional Associates certificates on their successful completion of the Programme.
