
From 31 March to 4 April 2025, the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan hosted a delegation from the World Customs Organization (WCO) for a strategic planning mission. The objective of the mission was to assist in developing a strategic plan for the Regional Training Centre in Turkmenistan.
The mission was led by Mr. Dashqin Aliyev, Technical Officer, WCO Capacity Building Directorate, and Mr. Zhaidar Inkerbayev, Technical Attaché, WCO Capacity Building Directorate.
During the five-day mission, the experts held working meetings and seminars to analyze the training process and identify key areas for the establishment and effective functioning of the Regional Training Centre, and helped develop a Strategic Plan for the Training Centre in line with the WCO guidelines.
The WCO representatives highly appreciated Turkmenistan’s efforts to modernize the customs education system and emphasized the importance of the Regional Training Centre for improving the skills of customs specialists not only in Turkmenistan but also in the region as a whole.
At the end of the mission, the parties confirmed their commitment to continued cooperation and expressed hope for the successful establishment and effective functioning of the WCO Regional Training Centre in Turkmenistan.
