President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow discussed with Yoichi Kobayashi priorities of the Turkmen-Japanese economic dialogue

On May 22, 2019, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received the Chairman of the Japan-Turkmenistan Committee for Economic Cooperation, the Vice-President of ITOCHU Corporation, Yoichi Kobayashi, State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.

In the course of the meeting, a thorough exchange of views took place on the prospects for partnership, where there is an impressive diverse potential, taking into account the course taken by Turkmenistan for industrialization and diversification of the national economy, the creation of high-tech industries focused on high-quality competitive products.

There are also great prospects for cooperation in the transport and communications and logistics sectors, agriculture and other areas where the formation of interests seems to be the most effective.

Thanking the head of state for providing support in bilateral cooperation and for appreciating the activities of Japanese companies in Turkmenistan, Yoichi Kobayashi confirmed the desire of Japanese business circles to expand their presence in the Turkmen market and take part in the implementation of large-scale reform programs in our country.

Welcoming the initiative approach of the Japanese partners to cooperation, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov wished fruitful work to the upcoming meeting.
