On November 3–4, 2026, a capacity-building exchange seminar was held at the Turkmenbashi International Seaport between representatives of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and customs authorities of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

During the event, the Pakistani delegation was briefed in detail on the infrastructure and operational capabilities of the Turkmenbashi International Seaport—the largest logistics hub in the Caspian region. The guests were shown the modern conditions and advanced digital solutions implemented at the customs post to ensure effective control of transit cargo and vehicles.

The parties paid special attention to the practical implementation of joint initiatives within the framework of the WCO-UNODC Passenger and Cargo Control Programme, as well as the Interregional Network of Customs Services and Port Control Units (IREN). Experts from both countries shared best practices and outlined promising areas for further cooperation.

The joint seminar marked an important step toward strengthening bilateral cooperation, enhancing customs control at international seaports, and introducing digital technologies to ensure the security of transit cargo flows.
