During the meeting, the interlocutors expressed interest in steadily increasing the established productive cooperation, emphasizing the readiness of the parties to search for effective forms and new directions of partnership, as well as its intensification in the political, economic, humanitarian and environmental spheres.
Currently, bilateral cooperation with the EU is effectively developing within the framework of existing mechanisms, in particular, the European Union – Turkmenistan Joint Committee, Inter-Parliamentary Dialogue, Dialogue on Human Rights, Consultative meetings between foreign ministries and in certain areas of cooperation.
In addition, Turkmenistan and the European Union cooperate fruitfully at the regional level, including within the framework of the European Union – Central Asia Dialogue.
Among the most successful projects implemented in Turkmenistan are projects in the field of legislation, education, development of information and communication technologies, agriculture and water management, assistance in the implementation of international conventions on environmental protection, climate change and others.
An important factor in further rapprochement between Turkmenistan and the European Union, according to the general opinion, is the activation of cultural and humanitarian ties, which serve as a solid foundation for further joint work based on mutual understanding and awareness of its compliance with mutual long-term interests.
Emphasizing once again that Turkmenistan highly appreciates cooperation with the European Union, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed satisfaction with the desire of the parties to further promote the strengthening and expansion of fruitful partnership.
