Customs officer of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan took part in the WCO-UNESCAP 5th UNNExT Masterclass: Facilitating Cross-border Paperless Trade using emerging technologies, which was held in Seoul, Republic of Korea from 19 to 28 September 2022.

The event was organized by World Customs Organization and United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific With the Support of Korea Customs Service CCF Korea Ministry of Strategy and Finance.

During the master class, UN experts on paperless trade and transport in the Asia-Pacific region shared methods of Streamlining Cross-border Trade Processes. Particularly Business Process Analysis (BPA) was considered. It is is a systematic method to analyze as-is trade procedures to identify issues and bottlenecks and designing improvement measures based on findings. During the session, the experts showed how to conduct BPA at organizational, sectoral, national or cross-border level to identify existing bottlenecks and come up with policy recommendations for streamlining trade processes, including application of ICT.

Korean colleagues also shared their experience in implementing a "Single Window" for cross-border paperless trade. Participants made a field trip to witness and have hands-on experience on implementation of trade facilitation measures and return to the venue.
