On September 26, 2024, an online training was held at the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan to study Japan's experience in implementing the institution of Authorized Economic Operators (AEO). The training was conducted by specialists from the Customs and Tariff Administration of the Ministry of Finance of Japan.

Aiming to ensure the effective operation of the AEO system, eight officers of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan expanded their knowledge, studied the practice of applying the AEO program in Japan, listening to lectures from representatives of Tokyo Customs.

Training provided a platform for discussing possible cooperation between the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and the Customs and Tariff Administration of the Ministry of Finance of Japan in the area of ​​AEO, in particular, participation in the mutual recognition agreement was discussed.

In addition, the Japanese side expressed its readiness to share experience in other areas of customs affairs and the parties discussed relevant topics for subsequent trainings.
